“Life is uncertain. Eat dessert first.” Ernestine Ulmer
Meet my cousin Paige. She is the baker extraordinaire and owner at Top Tier Cakes. She is located in Hillsboro, IL and boy does she make some amazing tasting cakes and cupcakes. I ended up in Hillsboro this past summer when I went to visit Paige’s family. While I was there I took senior photos for Paige’s sister- Bailey (click her name to see her photos) and cake shop photos for Paige. I had a great time hanging out in the shop with Paige– especially since I was given some sweet rewards for my visit. Taking these photos (along with some of the photos I have taken recently– like Grandpa Jr.’s photos) made me realize how much I enjoy documentary photography. I like following people around, giving little- if any- direction and capturing photos that display someone’s life. I am hopeful that I can develop this style of photography even more as I continue on. While I wasn’t able to spend a whole lot of time with Paige in the shop, I enjoyed the little time I was able to be there, documenting from the background
