I had the pleasure of meeting Anna Beavon at my day job. We quickly became friends, so when Anna Beavon expressed a desire to get some head shots/portraits taken, I jumped at the opportunity.

Over Christmas, my husband and I spent several days at my parent’s house in Southern Pines. Neither my brother or sister live in NC, so when the Holidays come and they all are home, I take complete advantage of spending time with them. This Christmas was extra special for my family since we had a baby to spend it with. We are all so madly in love with this little fella to the point that my sister and I actually would get in fights about who would get to hold him next, who would get him from his nap, etc, etc. Overall, it was a wonderful Christmas and I got some really good photos of my favorite little person.

What a crazy past couple of weeks! I finally was able to find some time to sit down, gather my thoughts, and write a new blog post. I wanted to share what I was up to last week— some of you might be wondering if you follow me on Twitter or my business Facebook page.

Meet Wyatt. He is a beautiful 12 year old chocolate lab. I have come to know him well over the past several years as his parents are friends with my husband and I. He is a sweet dog with a very unique personality.

“A sister is a gift to the heart, a friend to the spirit, a golden thread to the meaning of life.” ~Isadora James
These two sisters were an absolute blast to work with. On top of being beautiful young women, they were happy, fun, and very personable!

Back in October (2011) I traveled to Charlotte, NC to do family mini shoots for 8 local families. We used the same location- Freedom Park – for all the sessions and I have to admit, by the time the weekend was over I was both mentally and physically exhausted!

There is nothing more gratifying than being asked to work on a project that A) is super meaningful to my client and B) involves me spending a beautiful fall afternoon on a 250 acre piece of property. This project was a Christmas gift for my client’s husband. Their home and their surrounding property has become a place where they love to spend the majority of their time (I can understand why— their place is beyond beautiful- I didn’t want to leave the day I was there photographing
) They both have found their favorite places throughout the property and my client wanted me to photograph her husband’s special spots. She also wanted me to take some photos of their 14 dogs (mainly beagles). While they each have their favorites, all of their dogs are special to both of them.

Happiness is the feeling you’re feeling when you want to keep feeling it. ~Author Unknown
This was the second time I was able to spend time with Matt, Hope, & Sam ((see Samuel’s infant photos here. I now know that it wasn’t just the exhaustion that overcame them during Sam’s infant shoot, it was the fact that Matt and Hope are the kind of people who are just extremely comfortable in front of the camera.

Those words pretty much describe me in a nutshell, but since those words could apply to a whole lot of other people in this world, I will elaborate...
I love having photography as a passion and my creative outlet. I find the photography field gratifying since photographs evoke strong emotional responses from people. With my photography I strive to provide an experience that is unique, fun, and reflective of my client's personalities.
